We work in more than 45 countries across the two regions of Western & Central Africa (24 countries), and Eastern & Southern Africa (21 countries)

The Regional Cholera Platforms aim to improve cholera control and prevention across Africa through operationalization of an integrated strategy towards elimination.

Promptitude dans la transmission des rapports épidémiologiques à la Semaine 17 de 2017

86% en moyenne de promptitude dans la transmission des rapports dans le bassin du Lac Tchad pour la semaine 17.Cette cartographie illustre la promptitude dans la transmission des rapports épidémiologiques de ces 4 pays, uniquement pour la semaine 17. A l’avenir, ces données seront collectées et partagées par la plateforme choléra, tous les trimestres, afin de mettre en avant cet élément qualitatif des systèmes de surveillance, et à terme couplés aux zones à haut risque de choléra. A noter que même un retard dans la transmission peut avoir des conséquences critiques en termes de riposte aux maladies à potentiel épidémique.

86% average of timeliness in surveillance reports transmission in the Lake Chad basin as per W17 of 2017.This map illutrates the promptness in epi report transmission in these 4 countries, as per W17 only. In the future, these data will be continuously collected and shared by the cholera platform, in a quaterly basis, so as to highlight a qualitative component of surveillance system in place, and thus analyzed in coherence with cholera hotspot areas. To be noted that even a delay in reporting shall have critical consequences in the response to epidemic diseases.
