Operational steps
The Regional Strategy draws upon a roadmap, which consists in six operational steps to progress toward the ultimate goal of cholera elimination through an evidence based and risk informed approach.

Step 0 National Plans
National guidances for prevention and response to cholera - Step 1 Hotspots of cholera
Hotspot studies have been conducted in 14 countries to identify areas where cholera persists or re-appears regularly. - Step 2 & 3 Field investigations & Investment plans
Diagnosis and identification of programmatic response in cholera hotspots, and proposition of adequate solutions linking epidemic response and control, and development programs based on local transmission contexts. - Step 4 Advocacy :

Sustainable WASH interventions conducted in the field based on the regional strategy and the evidence produced through the previous steps - Step 6 Impact studies :
